MASS KIDS BOATING & FISHING WEEK

Mass KIDS Boating Day was established in 2017 to support KIDS boating events taking place throughout Massachusetts. In an effort to expand Mass KIDS Boating Day in 2019 we officially renamed the week to Mass KIDS Boating and Fishing Week.
Getting kids on the water in a safe and smart manner is a very important element of the future of the boating industry. Over 70% of adult boaters started boating when they were kids. Boating is a family friendly and healthy activity that is enjoyed by millions of people around the country. In addition one of the most popular recreational activities done from a boat is fishing, which is an important reason we decided to change the name to Mass KIDS Boating & Fishing week and pick dates that coincide with National fishing and boating week.
Mass KIDS Boating & Fishing week takes place in conjunction with
Great Outdoors Month and National Fishing and Boating week.

Event Details:
To ensure that young boaters feel safe and confident in their roles as honorary first mates, we proudly offer Kids in Boating! This specially designed course is exclusively for children and takes a fun and educational approach to learning the rules of the water. This course will be taught at MarineMax Boston Marina and for kids 8 - 13 years old.

MarineMax Kids in Boating class covers topics such as: Docking Boat Handling Safety “Rules of the road” Basic knot tying Boating terminology Much more Here at MarineMax, we feel that boating really is an activity for the entire family. Getting kids comfortable with boating and being on the water at a young age not only allows you to enjoy your time together on the water together, but also makes boating a part of their lives for years to come.

Foxboro Recreation has teamed with Bass Pro Shops, and The Foxboro Fish & Game to revive the local catch & release fishing event for Foxboro families
This is a free event but you MUST register your children!
​
Each participant should bring basic equipment (pole, line, & bait).
​
There will be prizes given for each of the four age groups for largest fish and most fish caught. Kids 15 and under (accompanied by an adult) will receive a T-shirt, and a lunch of a hot dog, bottled water and chips

Join us in our 6th Annual Fishing Derby, co-hosted by ConfiKids! Check in will be at 8:00am, and kids will fish until 9:30am. At that time, we will award the children by division with the most fish caught and largest fish! Participants should bring basic equipment (pole, line, and bait).
Founded in 2017, ConfiKids, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that strives to provide opportunities for children of limited financial means to participate in enrichment activities so that they may pursue their interests and passions, develop new skills, establish new relationships, and, ultimately, build confidence.

Welcome Aboard the New Bedford Launch operated by the New Bedford Port Authority where we will showcase Pope's Island Marina along with a cruise around the harbor. You will get a close up look at historic New Bedford and the largest fishing fleet and most valuable fishing port in America. Launch departs from Pope's Island Marina at 102 Pope's Island, New Bedford. Mention Kid's Boating and Fishing Week to get aboard.
