MASS KIDS BOATING & FISHING WEEK
Mass KIDS Boating Day was established in 2017 to support KIDS boating events taking place throughout Massachusetts. In an effort to expand Mass KIDS Boating Day in 2019 we officially renamed the week to Mass KIDS Boating and Fishing Week.
Getting kids on the water in a safe and smart manner is a very important element of the future of the boating industry. Over 70% of adult boaters started boating when they were kids. Boating is a family friendly and healthy activity that is enjoyed by millions of people around the country. In addition one of the most popular recreational activities done from a boat is fishing, which is an important reason we decided to change the name to Mass KIDS Boating & Fishing week and pick dates that coincide with National fishing and boating week.
Mass KIDS Boating & Fishing week takes place in conjunction with
Great Outdoors Month.

Touch A Boat Family Fun Day at Kingman Yacht Center

Hands-on experiences with unique boats from MA State Police, Corps of Engineers, Sea Tow, MA Environmental Police and more. Complimentary boat rides. Ice Cream and games for the kids, marine yard sale.

Franklin Rod & Gun Club Annual Fishing Derby
June 6th, 2026
7:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Location: 53 Florence St. Franklin, MA 02038
June 6th is our annual Fishing Derby! Just $10 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and younger on gorgeous Uncas Pond, which was recently stocked with 1,200 trout.There will be cash prizes for adults coming in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for biggest fish but all kids 16 and younger get trophies. We'll have free use of bait, gear, boats, rods & reels while supplies last. You can bring your own (non-motorized) boat as well and launch from our beach or public access road.We'll have an all-you-can-eat breakfast for $5 or, if you don't want that, breakfast sandwiches for sale that you can bring with you while you fish. There will also be a free pizza lunch.Raffles will be taking place throughout the day as well. It's a time-honored Franklin tradition and we can't wait to see you out there. Tight lines!

Jack Whitney Annual Kids Fishing Derby
Neponset Reservoir, Foxborough

Foxboro Recreation is excited to bring back the Jack Whitney Annual Kids’ Fishing Derby, a free catch and release event for Foxboro families made possible through our partnership with Bass Pro Shops, Foxborough Fish & Game, and Got Bait?. Join us for a fun morning by the water with fishing, prizes, fresh air, and a great local tradition.
This event is open to children ages 14 and under, accompanied by an adult. Registration is free, but all children must be registered in advance. Each child should bring basic fishing equipment, including a pole, line, and bait. Prizes will be awarded in each of the four age groups for largest fish and most fish caught. Registered children will also receive a T-shirt and lunch.

Bourne Kids' Fishing Derby
